My Birthday Month...

ree

There’s something about birthdays that makes you pause.

Not always in a grand, confetti-filled kind of way—but in a quiet, reflective one. At least that’s how it’s always been for me. I’ve never really been the type to make a big deal out of my birthday. I usually prefer to keep things intimate—time with the people I love most, something simple and meaningful.

But this year, as September arrives and my birthday approaches, I want to take the opportunity to reflect—not on the celebration itself, but on what it represents.

Because here’s what I know for sure:

Life is worth celebrating. Every single breath of it.

Not just the milestones or the achievements. Not just the picture-perfect moments. But the little, daily wonders that pass us by when we’re too busy, too focused, too preoccupied to notice.

The smell of gardenias and jasmine in the early evening air. A perfectly ripe avocado with olive oil, lemon, and salt. A soft, gooey brownie. A kind text from a friend. The ocean's rhythm. The laughter of your child. The deep stillness of being alone, feeling connected to something greater than yourself.

We don’t often stop to feel the full weight of that beauty. To register just how much life gives us every single day—often without asking anything in return.

So this month at Seekers Circle, I want to invite you to celebrate.

To celebrate your life—not as an egoic event or a performance, but as an act of reverence. A sacred pause to say thank you for this one wild and wondrous existence we get to inhabit.

Not everyone gets to wake up today. Not everyone gets to feel the sun on their face or taste chocolate or wrap their arms around someone they love. You did. And that alone is reason enough to celebrate.

This month, let’s move slowly. Let’s pay attention. Let’s treat life like the miracle it is—not just in big moments, but in small ones.

Let’s marvel at how dragonflies hover like tiny helicopters over still water. Let’s savor the sound of a loved one’s laughter. Let’s walk barefoot on the grass. Let’s light a candle just because.

Let’s cry when we need to, and laugh when we don’t expect to. Let’s call someone just to say we’re thinking of them.

And if you’re a parent—or becoming one—celebrate that too.

The sacred act of bringing life into this world, of raising tiny humans, of guiding new souls. That, too, is a form of devotion. A gift. A celebration of love made visible.

There’s so much in this life that we’re taught to take for granted. But when we slow down, even a little, we begin to see: there’s magic in the mundane. There’s gratitude in grocery stores.

There’s awe in aging. There’s abundance in ordinary days.

So this is my invitation to you, this September:

Celebrate being here. Celebrate this body that carries you. Celebrate the pain that shaped you. Celebrate the joy that sustains you. Celebrate your ability to feel, to witness, to choose again and again to keep showing up to your own life.

No performance.

No pressure.

Just presence.

Because this moment—this breath—is a miracle.

And so are you.

With a full heart,

Daniela
